A Decade of Love and Dreams Converge into a Moving Night!
Spend the Chinese’s Valentine’s Day at Tropic Beach Fiesta with Tens of Thousands of People!
SUMMER AQUARIAN started in 2002 as a local people’s party event. After ten years of hard work, the event finally earned the local government’s approval and easier access to outdoor venues. While retaining the autonomy to organize their own events, SUMMER AQUARIAN continues to bring music lovers joy and happiness. It was a long and winding road, as Cube Production director Jason Lee remarks. He notes that preparation for every SUMMER AQUARIAN event, including venue application, booking international artists and software and hardware organization can cost at least three to six months’ time, requiring an enormous amount of funding, not to mention the huge pressure of debt. In addition, every crewmember has their own day jobs and life plan, so for a team that aims to put out party events year after year, they must put every crewmember under consideration. One must admit that a party event that involves over a hundred crewmembers is indeed the ultimate form of art! It’s like going on ten journeys of love and dreams, once the satisfaction of bringing happiness to others sinks in, it’s nearly impossible to quit the calling. Everyone in the crew hopes that whoever attends this event will have one of the best memories in their lifetime. For the past decade, this is what SUMMER AQUARIAN was striving for!
This even is one ticket for all. You can play under the beaming sun to the rising stars. Free skim-board lessons will be available from 3pm to 6pm and at night one can enjoy the stars, the sand and the excellent music. Spend the Chinese Valentine’s Day at our tropical fiesta with thousands of music lovers! Presale tickets start from July 11 to Aug 1 and are 800 NTD. At-door tickets are 1000 NTD. For presale ticket purchases, please enquire the ERA ticketing system.

First things first. I had a fantastic party last night at SUMMER AQUARIAN 2011 - 10th Anniversary on the beach and would like to thank all the beautiful people I met there and made the night what it was. Special thanks go to the bar crew who kept my cup full of Tequila Sunrise and refilled my water gun with a smile every 10 minutes!!! Great job :)) That being said I am very disappointing with a few things.
1. Venue: The weather was perfect, moon was beautiful but only 20m from the party, the beach was littered with dead fish which smelled like...well...dead fish. Not very charming when going on a moonlight walk.
2. The entrance: I wasn't even allowed to bring in chocolate I had just bought at 7/11!!! OMG. I would never expect to be allowed to bring in alcohol or even my own water but no one was allowed to bring in snacks of any kind (even though the bag search was about as useful as a doorknob on a wall) which meant you had to leave the party every time you wanted to eat something. Ridiculous!!!
3. The cover: Making people pay NT1000 at the venue if they weren't able to get pre-sale tickets is petty and unnecessary. That kind of money-making tactics I would expect from clubs in Taipei, not from an event that promotes outdoor living and sea activities. If you are willing to sell tickets for NT600 then it should be the same price no matter when you buy it.
4. Swimming: I've been in Taiwan for 1 year now and I'm still befuddled be the Taiwanese chronic and irrational fear of water. But I'm from South Africa and I'm a very good swimmer and therefore when I'm at the beach and it's hot, I'm going to swim. The water was perfectly calm without a single wave breaking. Also the gradual slope from the beach allowed you to walk a good 10 meters into the water and it would still only be chest deep. Crossing the road is more dangerous!!!! So when I was told, AFTER 30 MINUTES OF SWIMMING, that it's not allowed and I'm going to cause the police to come and close the party if I don't get out, I was dumb-struck.
Which brings me to my main complaint for the night. The “organiser”. Never in my life have I been treated with such disrespect, rudeness and unnecessary aggression by an event organiser. Not 1 of the “life guards” patrolling the beach ever made any attempt to tell me I'm not allowed to swim. Instead they called the “main guy” to come and deal with me. After he grabbed my friend by the arm and tried to drag her away from the water he proceeded to verbally attack me, swearing and shouting in my face. I had committed no aggressive act was not causing trouble in any negative way so to be treated with such rudeness was totally unacceptable. The way he was acting was in total contradiction to the theme of the event which was supposed to be love and happy beach life. Had he come to me with a smile and asked me politely to not swim and gave me a rational reason I would have apologised for any inconvenience and gone back to the party with a smile. Instead he swore at me insulted me and told me I can only swim after 5am!!!! What the hell is that!!! This guy was the biggest asshole I've met since I've been in Taiwan and he has no idea how to treat with people with respect.
I will not be going back to this party next year and will not recommend it to anyone I know.
